Working with clay has a special meaning both at school and in the therapeutic area: the base experience of "comprehension" and "touching" is very often neglected to a great extent in digital times. However, kneading clay supports the development of bodily and spatial understanding and can open new means of understanding and communication within therapeutic application.
Teachers and occupational therapists often shun the coloured design of clay due to the justified worry that clay glazes are tricky to apply and can possibly be detrimental to health.
However, BOTZ brush-on glazes and engobes are ideal:
- Using them is child's play as they are ready for use and can be applied using a brush
- They adhere to the object and can easily be transported to the kiln
- No inhalation of dust harmful to human health, all products non-toxic
If the budget available for material is low, we recommend engobes as they are good value for money and already provide earthy colouring when biscuit fired. In their luminosity, brush-on glazes provide special decoration options to express multifaceted creative ideas. All BOTZ products are available both in 200 ml containers and in consumer-friendly 800 ml containers.
AND: pottery is fun!
